Chantal Miller
Founder & Creative Director
Chantal Miller is a storyteller by trade, with a passion for social and creative entrepreneurship. In addition to her community-building and wellness practice, she is also the founder of Island Girls Rock – a non-profit initiative designed to celebrate girls and women of Caribbean heritage.
Whether through workshop facilitation (storytelling and/or wellness), podcast production and/or hosting, curating, voice-overs, panel discussion moderation, event hosting or film production, Chantal has worked with Spotify, Afro Punk, BBC Arts, Southbank London and The Caine Prize for African Writing, to name a few.
A certified sound healing and creative healing practitioner, Chantal facilitates digital storytelling workshops for young people; leads meditation workshops for individuals and groups; and designs and curates wellness programmes for companies. The intention behind Chantal's practice is to inspire and encourage others to tend to their lives through meaningful self-care and ease.
Born to a Nevisian mother and Jamaican father, Chantal grew up between Nevis and the UK, deeply rooted in Caribbean culture. In 2015, in response to the devastation caused by Tropical Storm Erika in Dominica, she founded Island Girls Rock in London to create spaces where women and girls of Caribbean heritage could connect, collaborate, and thrive.
A guiding principle in her work is:
“When I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.” —Audre Lorde
