This initiative is an extension of a long-term sustainability project currently underway in Nevis that blends environmental, conservation, artistic creativity, and entrepreneurial growth to empower girls and women to take an active role in protecting their environment.

The stewardship program includes:

  • Beach Cleanups and Environmental Workshops – engaging participants in hands-on conservation while exploring sustainable practices.

  • Creative Arts Sessions – transforming reclaimed materials into meaningful art, promoting circular economy principles.

  • Entrepreneurship Workshops – building skills in creative entrepreneurship and business development.

The program runs monthly and accommodates a small, focused group, offering participants a unique opportunity to connect with nature, cultivate creativity, and develop practical skills for sustainable living.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDG) IMPACT OVERVIEW

With support from Adopt-A-Coastline, Island Girls Rock has and continues to add eco-friendly bins across Nevis’ beaches to encourage cleaner, greener communities. Beyond cleanup, collected items are creatively transformed into beautiful, functional crafts—turning waste into art and awareness. Together, they’re advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals, promoting Climate Action SDG (13), Life Below Water (SDG 14), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17), while inspiring Nevisians to care for their island with pride, creativity, and purpose.
