ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Island Girls Rock Art Gallery proudly presents Caribbean Girlhood, an immersive art exhibition celebrating the vibrancy, resilience, and creativity of life as Caribbean girls and women. This exhibition explores the rich tapestry of girlhood shaped by sea, sun, culture, and community, capturing the bold, tender, and unapologetic spirit of growing up in the Caribbean or with Caribbean roots.
Each artwork tells a story of identity, imagination, and lived experience; reflecting the joys, challenges, and transformative moments that defined Caribbean childhood across the community. From the quiet strength passed down through generations to the playful, fearless expression of youth, this exhibition invites viewers to experience Caribbean life through a lens that is deeply personal, yet universally resonant.
Through painting, photography, mixed media, and digital work, the artists engage with themes of heritage, empowerment, self-discovery, and cultural pride. The exhibition is a celebration of the myriad ways Caribbean girls and women navigate the world — shaping it, embracing it, and leaving an indelible mark with their presence. All artwork are available for purchase.
Caribbean Girlhood exhibition will run from March 1st 2026 until May 30th, 2026.
